For the kings, “Checkmate” is usually the end. But for us, the end is only the beginning of something new. We’re a bunch of thrill-seeking artists, from three separate generations. Formed during the pandemic months in 2020, we thought that while for many it could have been “Checkmate” i.e. – “the end”, for us it was the start of something new… CHECKMATE!! – Our diverse musical minds have blended into what is now the unique rocking sound of Checkmate, which does seem to bring for a few a slightly nostalgic feel into the past, but mostly it is an expression of what we really wish for the future of Rock & Roll and its wild, headbanging crowds.
Checkmate launched their first EP in 2021 including their first three tracks “Tonight”, “Standing in My Way” and their first power-ballad, “Move On” – and are available to listen to on all main platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc…) – and include music videos which are uploaded to our Youtube channel.
